Description

Black-and-white view of the towers of the ancient abbey of Mont-Saint-Éloi, severely damaged by bombings during the war of 1914-1915. The printed text at the bottom states: « What the TOWERS (south facade) of the ancient Abbey looked like, destroyed by the barbarians after months of bombardment ». On the reverse, a handwritten correspondence dated April 9, 1915, is addressed to Abel Morand at Longues, 350, Paul, St-Martin.
