Illustration of a man playing the violin with one leg resting on a chair, accompanied by printed text: 'Music is American. What a brave heart is to constant effort. Light wave, mute of poetry. Who in the sky holds us just for a moment!' The reverse has an address to Madame Laffitte in Rochefort-sur-Mer, a 10-centime stamp, and a postmark from Clignancourt dated April 16, 1902.
