Black and white view of the medieval gate of La Rochelle, with its imposing tower and ramparts above a lively square. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated August 28, 1930, sent from the City Hall of La Rochelle, mentioning travel plans to Paris and the Îles Saintes.
