Description

Monochrome engraving of a woman in a long dress and veil holding a child, seated on a rural floor with a bag at her feet. Signed 'Chilfane 1913' at the bottom left. Reverse: handwritten letter dated 1913, addressed to 'Dear Annie', sent by 'M. Disponch' from 'Tyranny, Passage Pandoval, 33, Paris'. Text mentions the shipment of '2 baskets' and a 'next letter'. French postmark 'CARTE POSTALE DU SECOURS NATIONAL' visible at the top right.
