Description

Stone statue of the seated Virgin, originally in the Carmelite church in La Châtre, hidden during the Revolution and later moved to the parish church. Printed text on the front explains its history. Reverse: handwritten address to Madame Dornois in Paris XIX, with sender's signature. French 20-centime postmark, cancellation visible.
