Description

Stone-sculpted monument depicting a giant lion, measuring 22m long and 11m high, erected in Belfort between 1870 and 1871. The printed text describes it as a grand work recalling the Egyptian colossi. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated September 25, 1913, addressed to Madame Georgette Bouchet in Paris, mentions a pleasant stay in Belfort and a planned visit to Paris.
