Description

View of the Saint-Julien Cathedral in Le Mans, with indications of construction periods: tower (11th–12th centuries), nave (11th–12th centuries), ogival choir (13th century), transept (14th–15th centuries). Reverse: handwritten letter dated September 1st, sent to relatives, mentioning a visit to the infirmary hospital, a retreat in Lobsens, and admiration for the fortress of Mont-Saint-Michel and the cathedral of Le Mans. Postmark and cancellation visible at the bottom right.
