Description

Chanzy statue on its pedestal adorned with reliefs, at the center of Place de la République in Le Mans, with inscription 'A CHANZY A LA 2ème ARMEE DE LA LOIRE 1870-1871'. In the background, a building with the sign 'RESTAURANT SACUNS'. Reverse: military postcard dated April 16, 1871, addressed to Mr. Charles Diger in Paris, with a postmark 'PARIS 16 AVRIL 1871' and handwritten text.
