Black and white view of the Roman aqueduct of Pont du Gard, with its three levels of stone arches crossing a river. The reverse indicates it is 269 m long and 48 m high, built before the Christian era on the order of Agrippa to bring the waters of the Fontaine d'Uzès to Nîmes.
