View of the Pont du Gard, a colossal Roman aqueduct of 41 km, built in 19 BC to carry water to Nîmes. The back details its structure in three rows of arches (6, 11 and 35) and its destruction by the Visigoths in 418. Printed text attributed to E. Mongrel.
