View of the Lourdes grotto with a statue of the Virgin Mary above the entrance, surrounded by devotees in dark clothing. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated August 10, 1924, addressed to 'My dear Valentine', mentioning a train journey and a small accommodation in Lourdes. Red 20-centime stamp, postmark 'LOURDES 10/8/24'.
