Description

Illustration of a soldier in field uniform in a trench, with a backpack and weapon, under a sky where a star containing a face shines. The printed text "L'ÉTOILE DU POILU" is visible at the top. On the reverse, handwritten text dated Tuesday, January 18, 1916, addressed to "Christine" in Paris, mentions the sending of the postcard and the waiting for two more letters. The publisher "REX" and the number "588" are printed at the bottom right of the front.
