Aerial view of Lisieux at the beginning of the 20th century, showing the rooftops and tree-lined streets, with the church in the background. Printed text at the bottom: 'Lisieux is the ancient Noviomagus. It was ruined in the 4th century by the Barbarians. Restored in the 4th century, and until the Revolution, it was the seat of a bishopric.' Reverse: blue 40-centime stamp, postmark from 'METTRELLIERE' (Calvados) dated 4 May 1922, handwritten address to Madame Hauron, 2 rue Vaucelles, Caen, and printed text 'No inscriptions are allowed on the View side'.
