Description

Norman scene showing basket-weavers in Catheaubray, with women and a man working around an open-air workshop, baskets in progress and raw materials (brushwood) stacked. Printed text indicates that basket-making employs about 1000 workers in Littry and that the wood is largely supplied by the brushwood of the Balleroy forest. Reverse: handwritten address to Madame Gloro in Calvados, 5-centime postage stamp, cancellation from DAZULÉ (Sarthe) dated June 14, 1904.
