Description

Postcard showing the torture room of the keep in Loches, dating from the 15th century, with chains and stone blocks. The printed text on the front refers to the state prison since Louis XI and notable prisoners held here, such as the Duke of Alençon, Pierre de Brézé, and Philippe de Savoie. The reverse indicates the publisher Lévy & Neubruck, rue de la Guillotière in Paris, with instructions for writing the correspondence.
