View of the Embankment of the River Thames in London, with a passenger boat in motion and an obelisk (the « Cleopatra's Needle ») visible in the background. The reverse indicates that the obelisk, 68 feet tall and weighing 186 tons, was brought from Heliopolis and presented to the British government by Mohammed Ali. The publisher is mentioned as the London Stereoscopic Company, and the printed text describes the Victoria Embankment from Westminster to Blackfriars Bridge.
