View of the Frébault Quarter in Lorient, showing an ornate metal gate with buildings with grilled windows on either side. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated May 3, 1918, addressed to a 'dear aunt and uncle,' mentioning a military detachment in La Rochelle and correspondence with an 'Emile.'
