Night view of the Lourdes cave, with the statue of the Virgin Mary illuminated in the background, surrounded by candles and devotees praying behind a grille. On the reverse, a postcard dated 7.9.46, sent to Maurice Rodney and his family at the Hôtel des Brousses in Pau, with a handwritten inscription: 'I prayed for you'.
