View of the Lourdes grotto with a statue of the Virgin Mary above an ornate grille decorated with crosses and flowers. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated September 4, 1918, addressed to 'My dear wife and my little angel', mentioning a trip to Lourdes and sending 'best kisses'.
