On the reverse, a handwritten letter addressed to 'Ma chère Fernande' in Bordeaux, signed 'Cher Octave', mentioning the approach of the 'gange' (likely a misspelling of 'gagne') and the sending of a postcard. Stamp and cancellation mark are illegible.
