Description

View of the apse of the New Church of Fourvière in Lyon, built from 1872 to 1884 following a vow from 1870 to consecrate a new sanctuary to the Virgin. The back features a handwritten letter dated August 9, 1919, addressed to a 'dear one' in Lyon, mentioning a trip to Paris and plans to visit the basilica. A postal stamp is affixed, with partial cancellation.
