View of the Monument de la République in Lyon, on Place Carnot, dated 1899, with a central statue of the Republic and sculptures at the base of the pedestal. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated 24 January 1928, addressed to Madame Mlle Mary Fauger in Évron, with a 40-centime postage stamp and a Lyon Rhône postmark.
