View of Place de la République in Lyon, with a central monument and surrounding buildings, including the pharmacy 'Grande Pharmacie Lyonnaise'. Printed text on the front explains the origin of the square under the initiative of Prefect Vaisse around 1857. Reverse: French postage stamp from 1935, postmark from Lyon-Gare dated August 7, 1935, and handwritten address to Paris.
