View of the Gothic ruins of the abbey church and cathedral of Maillezais, dating from the 11th century, with printed text describing its construction by Abbot Théodelin, its restoration in the 15th century by Bishop Jean d'Amboise, and its ruin by Protestants and the Revolution. Reverse: handwritten message in French, 'Souvenir d'un heureux jour', addressed to 'you', with a signature 'Jethy, Marigny-sur-Sèvre', and mention of the publisher 'Phototypie Jethy-Poupin (Marigny-sur-Sèvre)'.
