Description

Colorized postcard depicting the vast waiting room of Union Station in Washington, D.C., with its rows of red benches and vaulted ceiling adorned with circular motifs. The reverse indicates that the station was built by the American government and the Pennsylvania and Baltimore & Ohio railroads, at a cost of 18 million dollars, and that it is made of white granite, measuring 760 feet long and 343 feet wide.
