View of the ruins of the Aqueduct of Maintenon, a massive masonry structure begun under Louis XIV, intended to bring the waters of the Eure to Versailles. The printed text details its dimensions and unfinished state. On the reverse, handwritten text addresses the card to Mlle Chloé Brandes in Paris, with a mention of the publisher (E.-et-L.) and number 598.
