View of the Rhine Promenade and Fish Gate in Mainz, with an imposing stone archway and lined trees. The reverse has handwritten text addressed to Madame and Monsieur Paul Varlez in Bouchain (Nord), with a postmark from Pouteraux dated 20-10-1941.
