Colorized view of the Rhine in Mainz with several passenger boats navigating, in the foreground a large white-roofed steamer. The reverse has a handwritten letter dated 17 May 1908, sent from Mainz to the address of Mr. and Mrs. Bellavallée in Écue (France), with a stamp and a Mainz cancellation.
