Description

Humorous postcard depicting a soldier in uniform, clearly frightened, saluting with one hand while the other is in his pocket, near a barrel. The printed text above him says: 'But what a misfortune! The commander comes to surprise him and the Biscotte At the sight of his grumbling chief Trembles in fear in his pants.' On the reverse, a handwritten address to 'Monsieur Henri Dommelle, Charentes', a green 20-centime stamp canceled in 'SOLOGNE', and handwritten text in Russian and several other languages.
