Painted view of the interior of the Church of Saint John in Malta, with its frescoes adorning the walls and vaulted ceiling, and two visitors in the foreground. The reverse indicates that the church is located on Strada San Giovanni, that it was built by the Knights of Saint John, and that its altar served as a throne for the king and bishop before being looted by the French in 1798.
