Black and white view of the monumental staircase in Marseille with people in motion, flanked by lampposts and an ornate obelisk. On the reverse, a French postcard dated 18/10/1956, stamped 12c, addressed to the hotel Friano in Cannes, with handwritten text mentioning 'Cher doux cœur et famille'.
