Aerial view of Marseille with the Saint-Nicolas Castle on a hill, the densely packed rooftops of the city below, and a large columned building. On the reverse, a handwritten letter from Mrs. F. Zappi to Mr. F. Zappi in Cherbourg, dated from Marseille, mentioning a departure for the « bouillabaisse » and « events » in Marseille. Red Republic stamp of 10 centimes cancelled in Marseille.
