View of the Promenade de la Corniche in Marseille, with a house on stilts by the sea and a small wooden shelter in the foreground. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated August 2, 1918, addressed to Marie Louise, mentioning news of soldiers and the anticipation of the border closing. A 5 centime stamp and postmark are visible.
