View of the Passage du Trou in the Massif of the Grande Chartreuse, with a cart pulled by horses on a narrow path against a rocky cliff. The reverse bears a handwritten address to Madame Marie Fontana in Simiane, with a 2 franc French postage stamp and an obliteration 'D 9'.
