Description

View of the ruins of St-Aubert Mill in Arras after the war 1914–1915, with its imposing intact chimney amid the rubble. The reverse features a handwritten letter from a soldier to his girlfriend, expressing his joy at receiving her card and his gratitude for her support, while mentioning that he is still in combat. The stamp and cancellation are visible at the bottom right of the front.
