Outdoor scene of the 16e Colonial canteen at the Arsenal de l'Est, with several soldiers in uniform and helmets placed in front of a bamboo and canvas structure. Printed text at the top of the card identifies the location. The back contains handwritten correspondence dated August 8, 1914, addressed to 'Père Auguste', and a Chinese postal stamp with the inscription '楊記'.
