Scene of a chore in a barracks with two men: one sweeps with a shovel, the other cleans near a door. In the background, a canopy with laundry hanging. Reverse: printed text 'Correspondence' and 'All foreign countries do not accept correspondence on the front, inquire at the Post Office', with a handwritten address to 'Monsieur Louis Meurard' in Paris. Two green 5-centime stamps are affixed at the top right.
