Description

Propaganda postcard from 1915 depicting a soldier holding a rifle in front of a large gold coin adorned with a Gallic rooster and the inscriptions 'Liberty - Equality - Fraternity'. The text invites donations of gold for France and specifies that gold coins are exchanged at the Bank of France. The reverse contains an appeal to subscribe to the National Defense loan with a real return of 5.83%, and notes that correspondence on the front is not accepted by all foreign countries.
