Devastated view of the entrance to Ypres during World War I, showing ruins, a military vehicle, and barbed wire. The reverse bears a handwritten letter dated June 9, 1917, addressed to Jules and Dear Céline, with a Belgian postage stamp and a cancellation mark 'ALGÉRIE'.
