Description

View of the ruins of Fort Douaumont, with its stone structures and a sloping path. Printed text on the reverse mentions its construction in 1888, its capture by the Germans in 1916, and its restoration. A 30-centime stamp and a cancellation from Verdun dated 9 September 1915. Addressed to M. Daniel Victor in Paris.
