Black and white view of the ruins of Fort Vaux, with openings in the cliff and metal structures in the foreground. On the reverse, printed text recalls the battles of 1916 and the resistance of Commander Rœynal, a 15 franc stamp, a Verdun postmark dated August 22, 1951, and a handwritten address to Monsieur Boyer in Tureeau.
