Portrait d'un général âgé en uniforme sombre orné de galons dorés, coiffé d'un képi à plume blanche, les bras croisés. Le nom « Général de CASTELNAU » est imprimé en bas de la carte, avec la signature de l'éditeur « Cline Petit, Phot. » et la date « 1912 ». Le verso porte une écriture manuscrite en français, une adresse à « Cher Lucien », et la mention « PRINTED IN FRANCE » en bas à gauche.
