Description

Group of Moroccan Goumiers, Berber-origin soldiers, marching on an open road under overcast skies. To the right, an officer on horseback wearing a turban and dark cloak. On the reverse, a handwritten note dated January 4th, 1918, addressed to Mr. Lagrange, Secretary of the Peace Direction in Paris, with a printed Spanish legend describing the Goumiers as brilliant and fearless. The publisher is ALEX. JOUVÈNE, MARSELLA (France).
