Description

French propaganda postcard with a silhouette of a sailor on a ship, framed in red, calling for subscription with the slogans « IL VEILLE... » and « SOUSCRIVEZ ». On the reverse, two 40-centime stamps, a Vichy cancellation of 20 June 1940, and handwritten address to Pierre Roquefart in Aix-en-Provence. A message at the bottom of the reverse reminds: « PS. We are doing our duty. Do your part. Subscribe to Armament Bonds, it is supporting the French troops. »
