Description

Postcard showing the damage caused by the shooting down of a zeppelin in Compiègne in 1917, with soldiers observing the smoldering debris. The reverse contains a handwritten letter dated February 1918, sent to a Madame, describing the event and wartime conditions in Compiègne. A postmark is affixed at the top right, with partial cancellation visible.
