Description

Devastated view of the main street of Maurupt (Marne) after the Battle of the Marne (6–12 September 1914), with ruins and rubble. The reverse features handwritten correspondence dated March 1915, addressed to 'dear Charlotte and little one', with a mention of 'return for Avon' and 'new, they are better in almond'.
