Description

Scene of the awarding of the Legion of Honour to a wounded soldier lying in a hospital bed, by an officer in uniform. The printed text at the bottom of the card proclaims: 'LA LÉGION D'HONNEUR !'. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated May 3, 1915, sent from Thionville to Sibylle in Sainte-Élisabeth, with a 9.40 franc postage stamp and a postmark from Thionville.
