Description

View of the city of Roye in Oise, severely damaged after the retreat of the Germans in 1914-1918, showing ruined buildings and a partially destroyed church. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated April 15, 1914, addressed to 'My dear Margueritte,' revealing an affectionate tone and a mention of the recipient's health. The stamp and cancellation are visible on the reverse.
