Devastated view of the village of Steinbach in Alsace after the bombings of World War I, showing an intact church amid ruins and rubble. The reverse features a handwritten correspondence dated September 14, 1918, addressed to Mr. L. Mercier in Paris, and the publisher's stamp 'Anciens Étab. Meurhien et Cie, 52, Av. de Breteuil - Paris'.
