Caricature showing a French soldier falling under the effect of a 'grand soubage' (work) imposed by a Sudanese armed with a rifle. Printed text at the bottom: 'Ah! Ah! grand soubage, y matnant ti counnissi l'travail di taraillors, hân!'. Reverse: correspondence addressed to Mr. Marié Goddard at Les Charmellets, Chambéry, dated 14-4-1914. French 10-centime postmark, visible cancellation. Publisher: Dianoux, Algiers. Algerian Printing Press.
